Online Bus Ticket Bookings Software
Bus Ticket Booking System
An online bus ticket booking platform with real-time seat availability and payments.
Overview
The platform runs off a single route, schedule and fare master: define a service once — bus type, seat layout, boarding and dropping points with time offsets, base fare and date-wise pricing — and it opens for sale on your website, your app and your counters from the same inventory. Passengers pick seats from a live map that locks a seat during checkout, so 3A is never sold twice, pay by UPI, card or net banking, and receive an e-ticket over SMS, email or WhatsApp. Behind that sit the parts operators actually work in all day: agent logins with credit limits and commission slabs, cancellation and refund rules applied by slab, a conductor app for boarding scans and on-board sales, and trip-wise occupancy, collection and GST reports.
Live seat maps
Seat layouts per bus type — 2x2 seater, semi-sleeper, sleeper, upper and lower deck — with temporary locks during checkout so the same berth is never sold twice.
Route and fare control
Boarding and dropping points with time offsets, plus date-wise, seasonal or occupancy-based fares per segment, changed without republishing the whole schedule.
UPI and card payments
Gateway-hosted checkout for UPI, cards and net banking, automatic refund initiation against your cancellation slabs, and settlement reports that reconcile to the bank statement.
Counter and agent bookings
Agent and counter logins with credit limits, commission slabs and printed tickets, drawing from the same seat inventory as the website instead of a parallel register.
Conductor mobile app
Boarding-point-wise passenger lists, QR or ticket-number scanning to mark boarded, on-board seat sales, and trip closure with cash collected reported back to the office.

- Seat-level locking that prevents double booking

Frequently asked questions
How much does bus ticket booking software cost?
It is quoted after scoping, because cost tracks your fleet and channels — number of buses and seat layouts, how many routes and boarding points, whether you need a passenger mobile app alongside the website, agent and counter modules, a conductor app, and any aggregator or accounting integration. A ten-bus operator selling on one route is a different build from a multi-state operator with two hundred agents. The Indian market prices this either as a one-time custom build or as a subscription with a per-ticket component; that is the general pattern, not a Convertrix rate. Send us your route and fleet list and we will scope against it.
Can it connect to redBus, Paytm or other aggregators?
A connection can be built where the aggregator grants API access and commercial approval — that approval is theirs to give, so we scope it as conditional rather than promising it upfront. Where it is granted, seat inventory syncs both ways so an aggregator sale immediately blocks that seat on your own site. The uncomfortable part is commercial, not technical: aggregators bring volume but take a commission on every seat, so the point of your own booking engine is shifting repeat passengers to a direct channel you keep the full fare on. Most operators run both and watch the mix.
How are cancellations, refunds and GST handled?
You define cancellation slabs by hours before departure — for example a lower deduction beyond 24 hours, a higher one closer to the trip, nothing after departure — and the system applies them automatically, initiates the refund back to the original payment method, and logs it against the trip so your settlement reconciles. GST on passenger transport differs between AC and non-AC services, and the rate is a configuration per service type rather than something hardcoded, so your CA can set the applicable treatment and it flows into tickets and reports. Rescheduling, partial cancellation of some seats, and agent-side cancellation rights are all rule-driven.
Can our counter staff keep booking when the internet is down?
Counter booking is designed for patchy connectivity: the agent app holds a working copy and queues tickets locally, then syncs when the line returns. Be clear-eyed about the limit — seat locking is only reliable while the counter can reach the server, so an extended outage means the counter works from an allotted seat block rather than the live pool, and that block is reconciled on reconnect. The conductor app works the same way, holding the passenger list offline for boarding scans on the highway. Thermal ticket printers connect over USB or Bluetooth, and manual bookings entered later still land in the same trip reports.
How long does it take to launch, and what support follows?
A standard operator setup with web booking, payments and counter logins goes live in weeks; add a passenger app, an aggregator connection or a conductor app and it moves to months, built in phases so ticket sales start before the last module lands. The calendar usually goes to data setup — routes, boarding points, seat layouts, fare charts, agent lists — and to getting agents and conductors using the apps, not to the code. After go-live you get a defect-fix window, staff training, and an optional retainer covering hosting, payment-gateway changes, seasonal fare help and new route setup.
